Inca Trail With Camping

CUSCO - KM 104 - CHACHABAMBA - WIÑAYHUAYNA - INTI PUNKU - MACHU PICCHU - AGUAS CALIENTES - CUSCO

Overview

The 2-day Inca Trail with camping to Machu Picchu can be completed in a minimum of two days, but it is still an arduous trek that fascinates trekkers with its impressive panoramic views of the Andes of Cusco, verdant forests, and ancient Inca centers. The first day of walking is about 12 kilometers, while the second day is about 4 kilometers.

The first day, it takes between three and four hours to ascend to the spectacular ruins of Wiñay Wayna, located at about 2,650 meters above sea level. The Inca trail with camping climbs steadily up an original Inca trail through verdant forests and passes numerous Inca sites, including those of Chachabamaba, in the distance you can see Choquesuysuy to the impressive agricultural terraces of Wiñay Wayna, which create an inspiring sight. Here you will have lunch and then continue to (Puerta del Sol) and receive your first impressive glimpse of Machu Picchu.

You will continue to Machu Picchu to take some classic photographs and then descend to Puente Ruinas where the camp will be ready and tonight we will have an exquisite dinner prepared by our cook.

The next day, before the masses gather, you will get up early and go up to Machu Picchu. The Intihuatana Stone, the Temple of the Condor, and the Temple of the Sun are some of the most famous attractions in Machu Picchu. You will take a train back to Cusco from Aguas Calientes, but first, you will need to board the bus to Aguas Calientes.

If you have little time but still want to see and explore the incredible Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, I highly recommend the two-day short Inca Trail with camping, and if you don’t like camping we have the other option of the short Inca Trail with a hotel where you will have more comfort options
