Overview

Lares trek 3 days to Machu Picchu is a hidden gem that offers hikers a glimpse into the timeless world of traditional Andean life, where peasants still tend the fields their ancestors worked and herds of llamas and alpacas graze beneath the sacred peaks. snowcapped mountains that they worshiped as gods. The Incas initially used this trail during the height of their empire.

The 3-day Lares Trek to Machu Picchu is one of the most popular substitutes for the Classic Inca Trail and Salkantay Trek because it is less strenuous, closer to Cusco, does not require special permits, and is less crowded than the Inca Trail. We offer you the classic 3-day hike that you will surely enjoy.

Lares is a valley near Cuzco inhabited by weavers and farmers who still use ancestral methods and languages (Quechua and Spanish) and tools (ancestral knitting needles and agricultural implements) developed by the Incas.

The peasants, many of them descendants of the Incas, still use it today. The trail joins Cuncani, Huacahuasi, Quisuarani, Patacancha and Lares with the Sacred Valley.

The 3-day trek to Lares will be the perfect place to enter an unusual place with views of snow-capped mountains, lagoons, endemic forests and delicious food that will make this experience unique and one that you will remember for a lifetime. We will board the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes) in the afternoon of the third day until we arrive at Machu Picchu Pueblo to sleep in a hotel and have dinner at night to rest to explore and enjoy the next day.
